Why choose me?
- I grow quite quickly
- my flowers are very long-lived
- I can even reach 50 cm in height
Like all Mammillaria, it loves warm and very bright places.
It can also grow outdoors, in a rock garden, and exposed in full sun.
From spring to autumn, watering must be regular, but moderate - once every two or three weeks will be enough.
In winter, it is best to suspend watering completely, to avoid excessive stagnation of water and humidity.
It likes high temperatures, while it tolerates cold less well. In winter, it is therefore better to avoid keeping it below 5 ° C.
In spring, small funnel-shaped flowers bloom in a deep pink or red colour.
The flowers form a graceful crown on the top of the plant and last for a long time.
Native to Mexico and the southern United States (although it can also be found in the Caribbean area, Venezuela and Colombia), this plant can reach a height of 50 cm. To achieve maximum growth, however, it takes 5 to 10 years.
