A big news for KalaMitica Magnetic System!
A new collaboration has officially begun with a leading multinational company, thanks to which we have been able to develop a new range of large magnetic chalkboards and whiteboards for schools and offices.

At the end of 2019, Epson Italia was looking for some large chalkboards that could serve as projection surface for their brand-new interactive video projectors.
We sent them some of our chalkboards to test their functioning and compatibility with these state-of-the-art projectors.
The first tests went well, and so, after a first meeting at our headquarters, we started working together.
Obviously, with the ongoing pandemic, doing research and development has not been easy. Yes, you can meet online, but it is quite another thing to work, discuss and find shared solutions face to face.
In any case, having been chosen by such an important company made us very proud, and it is with great pleasure that we have dedicated many resources to complete this ambitious project.
Together, we tried to satisfy any type of aesthetic and functional need, as well as to resolve the doubts and problems that emerged after the first discussions with distributors and retailers.
The first thing we did together was to analyse the major points of weakness, to understand which solutions to adopt.
As we always say, for every problem there must be a solution!
What problems emerged and how did we solve them?
Aesthetics
- The chalkboards already on the market were not satisfactory from an aesthetic point of view. Epson wanted a design product and they had chosen KalaMitica for this very reason.
- We have therefore kept the clean and essential lines that distinguish the KalaMitica Magnetic System chalkboards.
Installation
- We had to simplify the work for the installers, who usually spend a lot of time installing the whiteboards.
- Therefore, we have studied and created a cardboard template, which simplifies the positioning operations and acts as a protection during transport.
Furthermore, by adopting very powerful magnets, designed to support the weight of the blackboards during installation, the work becomes considerably easier.
Logistics and Transportation
- Chalkboards that are too bulky are more likely to be damaged during transportation, and operators have to carry them with large vans.
- For this reason, we have decided to divide the entire projectable surface, which can reach up to 100" and 120", into two blackboards, while maintaining a homogeneous and uniform surface.
Convenience
- The chalkboards had to be spaced from the wall, to allow the passage of the power cables on the back, without having to carry out further masonry work.
- We chose to use some nylon spacers, which, together with the magnets and the pre-cut cardboard template, allow leaving enough space to pass the cables between the boards and the wall.
Sustainability
- The new blackboards had to be produced with an eye to environmental sustainability. The issue of producing durable and high-quality goods, therefore sustainable over time, has always been a focus for our company as well.
- The cardboard used for the packaging and the template is FSC certified, and all products are made in Italy and following the European directives.
Furthermore, in the event that the surface of the chalkboards should be damaged due to accidental damage, it will be possible to turn them over and use the back side; the two surfaces are in fact identical, both in aesthetics and functionality.
The project went ahead not always smoothly, experience has taught us over time that a product comes never out perfectly on the first attempt. A good product is the result of several improvements and changes, derived from understanding the mistakes that we make along the way.
Finally, after more than a year of work, in February we completed the project and we presented it to the first dealers.
In the last few weeks, we have produced the first sample, which will be delivered to these dealers to complete the last tests.

The sum of their ideas and our solutions, we are convinced, will be useful to students of schools and universities, and to employees and managers of companies.
We hope that the beauty of this product, designed and studied down to the smallest detail, combined with the cutting-edge technology of Epson’s new interactive video projectors, will serve many to face the important challenges that await us.

Fixing Kit (included) with:
- 18 double-sided adhesive stickers;
- 8 nylon spacers;
- 8 polypropylene screw covers;
- 12 magnets with through hole for quick mounting.
Installation
Simplified installation thanks to:
- subdivision of the total surface into two chalkboards to facilitate movement and fixing;
- cardboard template (included in the package) useful for identifying the correct positioning of the blackboard and its fixing holes;
- powerful magnets capable of supporting the weight of the board before fixing it with screws;
- installation spaced from the wall to allow the passage of power cables.
